Fackler family letters [manuscript], 1861-1863.

The collection contains five transcripts of Civil war letters of the Fackler family including a letter 1862 November 18, Staunton, Va., mentioning fear of Union raiders; letters from C. W. Fackler, 1863 March 26 and May 5 and 7, on life during Bragg's Tennessee campaign, with brief mentions of a rumored march to assist N. B. Forrest, having boots made by a "Free-Boy," war news and rumors, a family member taking the oath [of union allegiance?], loss of slaves, court martial of Col. J. M. Hambrick and hopes of taking Murfreesboro.
